The club year officially ended after the May meeting, which was held on May 12. The regularly scheduled meetings will begin again on September 8. A special thanks to Boyd Carson for his demonstration at the May meeting on form and turning a weed pot using the Golden Ration to determine the proportions.
If you are wondering what you will do for socialization between now and September 8, there are several summer club-related events happening, starting this Saturday, May 23, with a Sawdust and Shavings session on milling your own turning blanks from a log. If you are interested and haven’t already signed up, please do so ASAP. Information to these events are sent to our email list. The summer shop tour schedule will be as follows:
- June 27 at Rick McCourt’s shop. The annual club picnic will follow the shop tour and friends and family members are welcome to attend. Rick will be providing the main course and beverages and attendees are asked to bring a side dish or desert. Please let Rick know if you will be attending, and the number of people you will be bringing.
- July shop tour will be hosted by Chris Nelson. More details to follow.
- August shop tour will be hosted by Jim Rendle. More details to follow.
