Planning for the MADEfare was the main topic of discussion at the October meeting. The event is scheduled for October 17 and 18. The club will be hosting a booth where turning demonstrations will be performed by members. Demonstrations will include turning of small items that can be completed quickly. Thank you to Boyd Carson for organizing this year’s event, and for all the club volunteers for your participation.
The October demo was presented by Dean Center, who showed us how to create hearts entirely made on the lathe. Dean described and demonstrated each step in the process, from detailed layout, to the multi-axis mounting of wood (both between centers, and using a chuck). Thank you, Dean, for a great demo!
